Program
RoboSub 2027
For 30 years, RoboSub has challenged students to design, build, and demonstrate increasingly capable autonomous underwater vehicles. As we look ahead, we’re building on that foundation to create new opportunities for teams to demonstrate advanced capabilities in more complex, realistic environments.
In 2027, we’ll begin piloting the next evolution of RoboSub, including a new opportunity to take competitions beyond the traditional course and put team systems to the test in a different environment.
We’ll develop this alongside the RoboSub community, gathering input from teams, advisors, and industry experts and sharing additional details as the concept develops. Stay tuned for opportunities to help shape what comes next.

Data Sharing
This community-driven project was created to increase collaboration between teams and address the never-ending quest for test data.
All registered teams gain access to the Data Sharing online server to use for the competition season.

Lodging at the Competition
EVENT HOTEL:
RoboNation has contracted with a local hotel to provide a special rate for RoboSub teams. Teams are responsible for booking their own lodging for the event. This information will be made available at least 2 months before the event, and published on the RoboSub website.
ALTERNATIVE OPTIONS
Many teams reserve a short-term rental in the area. Several cities in Orange County have implemented bans or strict regulations on Airbnb and other short-term rentals. RoboNation recommends that staying in a hotel is going to be a more reliable and secure option.
